Her formal science background gives her the ability to analyze and understand highly technical information which she can then illustrate using her artistic skills. Kalliopi has recently studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Continuing Studies Program and has previously trained with Betsey Garand, Susan Clinard, and Carol Abraczinskas. She is a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators and the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology. In addition to illustrating, Kalliopi enjoys getting her hands dirty in her sculpture studio.
